Danielle's Background

Danielle has been around animals since a very young age. She started riding horses at the age of 5 and competed competitively until the age of 19, when a bad jumping accident caused her to stop.

Dogs and horses have always been a big part of her life and is truly where her passion lies. As a youngster, Danielle was constantly walking all the neighborhood dogs whenever she could.

Danielle always knew she wanted to have a life that involved animals, and a career that involved working with animals. When she started working at Planet Pooch in 2004, she instantly realized that she wanted to train dogs. Soon after, she attended and graduated from the SF SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers where she received her certificate in training and behavior counseling.

In June of 2004 she attended an exotic animal training course at Hollywood Animals in Los Angeles to further her training capabilities. She worked with lions, an African elephant, leopards, Bengal tigers, bears, and a Capuchin monkey. After graduating from the exotic animal training course, she began working with Pia as an intern and assistant to gain more knowledge about dog training and dog behavior, and is now teaching Puppy pre-school, Beginner and Puppy Play socials. Danielle also works part time as a veterinary assistant.

Her eventual goal is to obtain a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT) designation. The certification process is thru the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.

Danielle owns two Alaskan Malamutes, Madison and Kody.
